Scientists from Dubna developed a construction material for Olympics

15.08.2009

Innovation of the scientists from Moscow-area Dubna – FRP – can be widely used in the construction. The authors of the recent development offer to build the bridges, highways and floating islands from this material. This will cheapen the building and make the objects more durable.

«Everlasting» bridge is assembled like a construction set – from three parts. It is necessary two hours to assemble it, but it will serve one hundred years with no repair at all as promised by the specialists. Some projects are developed by the company for the Olympic Sochi. This is a covering for the highway – it will make the road more strength for four times – and also floating islands from fiberglass, the hotels and trade centers will locate on them.

By the scientists point of view even now the innovative materials can compete with the traditional. Composites do not cede them by the reliability, and by the number of characteristics even exceed the metal and concrete. High cost of the new generation materials is atoned by the minimum expenses at the service.

The developments of the scientists from Moscow-area attracted the officials’ attention. In prospect, Dubninskaja Company has the mutual project with state corporation “RUSNANO”.
