The perspectives of the Russian aircraft industry development were discussed on the meeting in Irkutsk under the chairmanship of Igor Shuvalov, the First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Government

  Mister Khristenko, the chairman of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, informed that there are some difficulties in the aircraft industry due to the economical crisis. The various aspects make the influence. By his words the Government of the Russian Federation devoted 30 billion Rubles for financial support of the enterprises of aircraft industry within the anti-recessionary measures. The Ministry highlighted also that the analysis of all aircraft enterprises of Russia will be finished up to the end of the summer. «In the conditions of signs of crisis the regrouping of the forces in the aircraft industry is required», - he said.

  Viktor Khristenko highlighted that the strategy of the development of the aircraft industry of Russia has not lost its relevance neither at the level of given aims nor at the level of solving tasks. Realization of the perspective projects stays as the most important priority. Civil aircraft industry still faces the task to increase the share of the Russian civil aircrafts on the world market from the current 1% to 10% to 2020. He named a new regional aircraft “Sukhoi Superjet-100’ as one of the priority project. According to the Ministry’s words a new close-medium range aircraft MS-21 must be a breakthrough project in long-term perspective. The enterprise “Irkut” (Irkutskij aircraft factory) is the basic production base for construction of this aircraft. «The volume of the financial package of this project will constitute 5 billion Rubles in 2010», - the head of the Ministry of Industry and trade of Russia clarified adding that MS-21 is planned to be placed on the global market to 2016-2017 years. He noted that a whole range of new technologies will be used at the MS-21 construction, in particular a composite wing the work under which has already begun. During this year 1 billion Rubles will be invested into the development of the wing.
