The Union of Russian composite producers: the beginning

The aim of this annual conference is to discuss the problems of the industry and give it the trajectory of development. More than 50 leading companies from Russia, SIC and Baltic countries and Europe took part.

It was marked that the usage growth of GRP composite materials in Russia is is due to macro economical reasons. But in spite of this in Russia there are no any public motivation systems which can stimulate the consumer to use composite materials (now only 1,5 %) instead of traditional. In this situation according to international experience the industrial union will be an effective mechanism of creating the favorable conditions for each company of industry development.

Almost all participants mentioned the lack of high quality raw materials produced in Russia. This leads to high import share. As the Union activity already exceeds the limits of fiberglass producers` interests the industry members supported the idea of renaming the Union to The Union of composites producers to form the program of Russian composite industry development.
