«Tupolev» conquers the sky

  The airborne vehicle is said to be finished to the April 2010. After it the aircraft will be passed to the structural designers for making trials and to the middle of 2011 the commercial aircrafts should start to make the regular voyages.

  High hopes are put on a new liner in UACC. Tu-204SM must become the basic Russian medium range aircraft before MS-21 appearance that is at the designing stage at present. People in the state corporation believe that a redesigned “tushka” is quite competitive and will be sought-after at least on the domestic market.

 - In point of fact this is a new type of the aircraft, - Igor Shevchuk, the president of OJSC “Tupolev”, clarified. – The liner got a new inboard installation and auxiliary power unit. Engines, landing gears and cabin underwent a serious modernization. And thanks to the usage of the modern light composite materials the aircraft became lighter for more than 1 ton and significantly cost-efficient.

  As the structural designers tell, the liner has become “humanitarian”. A modern management system of the aircraft equipment was installed on “tushka” for decrease the load onto a crew. Thanks to it the liner reliability is increasing and the influence of the human factor is decreasing. A passenger cab id equipped by new systems of conditioning and pressure regulation in the cab. Satellite data transmission system and GSM-module are installed on a new Tu-204 as an option. The passengers of the liner can use the Internet and cellular communication in a usual way during the flight. As the experts note modernized “two hundred four” does not cede “Boeing” of the analogues class for the most of the characteristics and in some cases exceeds the foreign analogue. At that the Russian liner is more available by the price.

  First half dozen of the aircrafts have been already reserved by the air company “Atlant-Union”.

  Among this one more sensation in the world aircraft industry is expected on MAKS-2009. In Zhukovskoe UACC it is planned to announce about the beginning of the reconstruction work of the production of the unique “auto trucks” “Ruslan”. Famous aircrafts – giants will be assembled on the holding frames in Uljanovsk. However it is yet difficult to tell when a first modernized “Ruslan” gets off. As it was clarified in UACC before the production begins it is necessary to solve a great number of technical and organizational questions, particularly with the Ukraine part.
